A pass in 10+2 system of Senior Secondary examination or its equivalent with English as one of the subjects. Candidate must have passed English as a subject of study (core/elective/functional) in the qualifying examination.

Those appearing in 10+2 or equivalent examination can also appear in JEE 2016 on provisional basis. Provisional admission will stand cancelled if proof of having passed the qualifying examination (10+2 or its equivalent) is not submitted at the time of counselling or at the time of admission or latest by 30-09-2016.

The offer of admission is subject to verification of original certificates/documents at the time of counselling/admission. If any candidate is found ineligible at a later date even after admission to an Institute, his/her admission will stand cancelled.

  • Plus two level examination in the 10+2 pattern of Senior Secondary education of any recognized Central/State Board, such as Central Board of Secondary Education and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination or State Boards of Secondary Education.
  • Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/University.
  • General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
  • High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University.
  • Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in a foreign country recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 pattern of Senior Secondary education.
  • H.S.C. Vocational Examination.
  • Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects including English as one of the Subjects.

Age Limit & Reservation of Seats

Age Limit as on 01 July 2016

For candidates from General and OBC categories, upper age limit is 22 years as on 01.07.2016. Candidates born on or after July 01, 1994 are eligible. In the case of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates, upper age limit is 25 years as on 01.07.2016. That is SC/ST candidates born on or after July 01, 1991 are eligible. Upper age limit for Physically Challenged candidates shall be reckoned as per the category he/she belongs to i.e. General/SC/ST/OBC. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/Pre-University Certificate shall be the authentic proof that will be accepted. At the time of counselling, this certificate must be produced in original as a proof of age, failing which the candidate will not be considered for counselling/admission.


All qualified candidates will have to submit a physical fitness certificate at the time of admission from a Registered Medical Practitioner in the prescribed format given at ANNEXURE-I


As per Government of India rules candidates belonging to certain categories are admitted to seats reserved for them. Benefit of reservation shall be given only to those classes/castes/tribes which are in the respective Central List published by the Government of India.


For the SC and ST categories, 15% and 7.5% seats, respectively, are reserved in Central and State Government Institutes of Hotel Management. Candidates belonging to SC / ST categories will be required to produce the original caste/tribe certificate issued by a competent authority in the prescribed format during admission. Certificates in any other format will not be accepted. Seats remaining vacant in these categories shall not be filled by candidates belonging to any other category.


27% seats are reserved for candidates belonging to OBC (Non creamy layer) category in Central Institutes of Hotel Management. Those belonging to the creamy layer of OBC are NOT entitled for reservation. Seats remaining vacant in this category shall be filled through General Category candidates, as per Hon'ble Supreme Court ruling. The OBC candidates (non-creamy layer) will be required to produce original OBC (Non Creamy Layer) caste certificate issued on or after April 01, 2015 by a competent authority in the prescribed format at the time of counselling/Admission. Format is given at Annexure-II.


The certificate of SC, ST & OBC category is required to be issued by District Magistrate/Additional District Magistrate/Collector/Deputy Commissioner/Additional Deputy Commissioner/Deputy Collector/1st Class Stipendiary Magistrate/City Magistrate/Sub-Divisional Magistrate/Additional Chief Presidency Magistrate/ Presidency Magistrate/Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar/Sub-Divisional Officer of the area / Administrator/Secretary to Administrator/Development Officer (Lakshadweep Island) where the candidate and/or his/her family normally resides. Certificate issued by any other authority will not be accepted. Candidates are required to produce the original Caste Certificate along with attested copy at the time of Counselling as well as at the time of admission at the Institute.


3% of seats across the board are reserved for Physically Disabled candidates in all Central & State Government Institutes of Hotel Management. For any category of disability (viz. locomotors, visual, dyslexia, speech, and /or hearing) benefit would be given to those who have at least 40% physical impairment.

The percentage of disability of the candidates will be required to be certified by Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Central Govt. / State Govt./ Municipal Corporation run Hospitals only. Such candidates are required to produce the original Medical Certificate both at the time of Counselling and at the time of Admission to the Institute. In case of any dispute in determining the eligibility under PD category, the decision of the Medical Board to be constituted by the Institute would be final. RESERVATION FOR KASHMIRI MIGRANT (Subject to notification from Ministry of HRD for academic session 2016-2017)


One seat (Supernumerary) in each Central and State Government affiliated IHM is provided for Registered Kashmiri Migrants. Such applicants shall have to qualify the JEE-2016. Candidates registered with different State Govt. should produce proof of registration in original at the time of Counselling and at the time of admission to the Institutes.

IPM-IIM Indore- 2016

Five Year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM)

The five-year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM), the first of its kind in India launched by IIM Indore, is a unique and creative programme to meet the aspirations of young students to become management professionals, change agents and societal leaders.

IPM is aimed at students who have passed out of class XII/Higher Secondary or equivalent from various schools in India. It is widely believed that our ability to influence younger students is greater. Therefore, IIM Indore's objective is to attract young students, groom and mould them as outstanding leaders through a world class education. IPM, therefore, is a strategic fit in the overall context, vision and mission of IIM Indore.

The IPM, a residential programme, is a unique opportunity for the Institute to make a contribution in this important social space. It is also an exciting option for the young boys and girls to charter their profession in the area of management with a wider scholarly academic background in a social sciences setting.

Eligibility criteria for this programme requires a minimum of 60% aggregate marks at Secondary/X Standard/Equivalent and at Higher Secondary/XII/+2 level/Equivalent for General and NC-OBC category candidates (55% aggregate marks at Secondary/X Standard/ Equivalent and at Higher Secondary/XII/+2 level/Equivalent for SC, ST and PWD / DA candidates). All candidates meeting the minimum eligibility mentioned above will be called for the Aptitude Test.

During the tenure of the programme, candidates' academic performance will be assessed on continuous basis and all those who meet the minimum requirements of the programme will be promoted to the subsequent year of the study. Those who do not meet the minimum requirements of the programme on yearly/term-wise would be advised to leave or repeat the programme. Those candidates who complete all the five years of the study and meet all the academic requirements of the programme will be considered for being awarded an Integrated Diploma in Management (IDM). The programme requirements will be decided by an academic council/committee of the Institute and the same will be shared with the candidates upon their joining the programme.


Fees and Accommodation

Tuition fees for the programme for the first 3 years would be about Rs.3,00,000/- per annum and for next two years it would be about Rs.500,000 per annum. Tuition fees does not include boarding and lodging charges. Accommodation would be organized on the campus on a twin-sharing basis for the first 3 years. Single room accommodation would be made available for the 4th and 5th year of the Programme on campus.

Course Structure

The Programme would consist of 15 terms spread over a period of 5 years with each year having 3 terms of 3 months each. The broad design of the Programme would include education in Natural Sciences, Liberal Arts, and Humanities and Social Sciences setting. Accordingly, 40% of the Programme would focus on subjects related to the following areas:


Mathematics, Statistics, Logic and Computer Science


Introduction to Literature: Indo-Anglian, British and American


Introduction to Philosophy, Sociology, Psychology, Political Science, Geology, and Geography


Civilization and History (both India and World)


Exposure to Natural Sciences: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Botany


Exposure to Performing Arts and Fine Arts


Soft skills: Leadership Development, Personality Development, Team work and Communication


The remaining 10% of the Programme would focus on international exposure and internships in various social organizations in India.


Faculty Resources

Faculties are drawn from various sources which include faculty members of IIM Indore, resource persons/visiting faculties from renowned colleges/institutes, industry experts and retired faculty members from Indian universities.

Student Activities

Apart from academic programmes, the IPM students are exposed to various extra-curricular activities in order to inculcate in them leadership qualities and managerial skills.

CLAT- 2016 Admission Notification

CLAT 2016

Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a non-statutory body created for the convenience of the students seeking admission to various National Law Universities in the country under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). An entrance test is conducted to provide a list of candidates on the basis of ‘merit-cum-preference’ to each University for admission to their UG/PG programmes, as per the eligibility, reservation and other criteria laid down under the respective statutes of the participating Universities.

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), is an all India entrance examination, conducted on rotation by 17 National Law Universities (NLUs) for admissions to their Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate degree programmes. The 17 participating NLUs in the order of their year of establishment are:

The first CLAT Core Committee consisting of Vice-Chancellors of seven participating NLUs decided that a common entrance test shall be conducted by all the participating universities on rotational basis in the order of their year of establishment. Accordingly, the first Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) was conducted in the year 2008. Preesently there are 17 NLUs participating in CLAT and following the policy of rotation, the ninth Common Law Admission Test (CLAT 2016) shall be conducted by Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab.

For Under-Graduate Programs:
To be eligible to appear in CLAT 2016, a candidate should have obtained a Higher Secondary School/Intermediate (10+2) or its equivalent certificate from a recognized board with not less than 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of SC and ST candidates) and should be below 20 years of age as on 1st July 2016 (22 years in case of SC/ST and Persons with Disability (PWD) candidates)
Candidates who are appearing in March/April, 2016 or have appeared in the 10+2 examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to appear in the test.

For Post- Graduate Programs:
To be eligible to appear in CLAT 2016, a candidate should have obtained a LL.B/five-year integrated LL.B degree/any other equivalent degree from a recognized university with not less than 55% marks in aggregate (50% marks in case of SC and ST category candidates).

The candidates who have passed the qualifying degree examination through supplementary/ compartment and repeat attempts are also eligible for appearing in the test and taking admission provided that such candidates will have to produce the proof of having passed the qualifying examination with fifty-five/fifty percent marks, as the case may be, on the date of their admission or within the time allowed by the respective universities.

The candidates who have appeared or are appearing in the qualifying degree examination by March/April, 2015 are also eligible to appear in the test. Such candidates may submit the final results of the qualifying examination within the timeframe prescribed by the respective Universities and shall be provided provisional admission only.
