FDDI SCHOOL OF BUSINESS MANAGEMENT (FSBM)- 5 Years Integrated Programme in Business Management
As an institution under the aegis of Ministry of Commerce, FDDI shares the government’s responsibility of promoting trade and commerce within India. The FDDI School of Business Management offers a Five year Integrated Programme in Management which will ultimately enable students to develop a sound understanding of how business and economic decisions affect the health of the society and nation at large.
In today’s times when trade & enterprise, are overcoming social, geographical and political barriers to alter the face of human civilization – it has become imperative to give a fresh thought to how we select, train and nurture professions who will handle businesses in the future. It is upon us to ensure that the people who lead business tomorrow - receive focused education, have a thorough grounding in the art & science of business management - and are deeply aware of how their actions impact the lives of those around them. The main thrust of the centre of Business Management & Entrepreneurship at FDDI is on creating entrepreneurs who will have adequate theoretical and practical knowledge of all aspects of conceptualizing, managing and promoting a business enterprise. These entrepreneurial minds, will be able to utilize resources available to them to create organizations larger than themselves.
The learning in the 5 year Integrated Degree Programme in Business Management is going to be one of continual experiential immersion - where a student is exposed to real life business situations and theoretical information simultaneously. The teaching tools will include:
• Subject Lectures by University Faculty
• Lectures by Eminent Corporate Personalities
• Case Study Analysis
• Corporate Internships (at the end of each semester)
• Live Industry projects & research projects
• Field trips & Rural Immersion Visits
• Industrial Trips
• Campus Companies
• Adoption of SME and MSME: a group of students and faculty members will be ‘responsible’ for a particular Small/ Medium sized enterprise and will be working closely with the adopted company to enhance its productivity and business efficiency.
The pedagogy will be aligned with the traditional gurukul approach, where the teacher and student interact closely in an environment that encourages every minute learning. Internships will be compulsory at the end of each semester and as the student will have gained 18 months of practical corporate exposure before graduating he/she will not be a just fresh graduate when he steps out of college. The college has an active corporate liaison cell which will be responsible for sourcing internship opportunities as well as monitoring student performance during these tenures.
